Bill Floyd, Chef Bryan Caswell, Billy Gibbons and El Real GM, Justin Saunders strike a pose in the kitchen at El Real last night. Caswell was gobsmacked when his rock n’ roll idol, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top sat down in the bar. Caswell had just sent Gibbons a guitar, a Tres Hombres LP and a series of ZZ Top posters hoping for some autographed items to hang on the wall at El Real–little did he expect Gibbons would stop by in person.
As the double truck photo of the Tex-Mex feast inside the cover of the Tres Hombres LP attests, Billy Gibbons and the rest of ZZ Top were big fans of Leo’s Mexican restaurant–in fact one of Leo’s sons was a ZZ Top roadie.
Gibbons seemed to enjoy his meal at El Real, so hopefully he’ll make it his new Tex-Mex HQ.
